the murmuring, 2024
An immersive installation at Rubicon ARI in North Melbourne.
The works follow a poetic methodology informed by 20th century modernism, phenomenology, and the vitality that can be generated from material play.
Humble, domestic materials are hung precariously and held together provisionally, suggestive of instability, transience and dissonance. An evolving language of eccentric and misbehaving forms challenges the passivity of the viewer to create associations and inferences. Disparate combinations present an interplay between Minimalism, quotidian life and contemporary embodied practice.
