light-box paintings

This selection of works is drawn from the period 2014 until 2022 where I worked with Minimalist models of reduction, monochrome and repetition in the form of fabricated, free-standing light-box paintings.  In this collection natural light, in combination with translucent perspex, uv cured inks, oil pastels and other mediums, generate shifting optics. Here, I'm exploring the repetitive gesture as an immersive and expansive exercise as well as the expressive potential of the language of moire to suggest static, noise, excess and disintegration.

I live and create on the unceded sovereign land of the Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation. I pay my respects to their Elders, past, present and emerging.
